Haze
Laying on my bed
I woke to the world in monochrome
Everything is covered in dust
Someone said the city was burning
And the smoke was covering the sky
I know should run, but I rather lay here
Still with no concern
The dust in the air causing my eye to water
I know I should be running
Today, apathy is my best friend
Slowly traveling from my toes to fingers
Lingering upon my lips
I don’t care for the tears or feel the joy of the laughter
Laying on my bed I will stay
Someone said the sky is falling
But in this haze how could we tell
Everyone is gathering their memories and folding them in
back pocket
The world is in monochrome, and I really don’t know what to
say
To the fact you are leaving me
Indifferent to the clicking of the door
Because I haven’t been able to see you for days
Sometimes I wish for clarity
It comes with thoughts of breathing without choking
On this coldness inside me, spreading
Until I am laying here
Laying on my bed
Watching the world fall apart
In smoke, ash, dust and grim
And I rather light a cigarette
Watch the whole show burn down around me
Monochrome is this world
Lost in the haze
Someday I will search for your shadow
But today, I just don’t care
